Myrl Coulter writes fiction, poetry, and literary non-fiction. When not writing, she can often be seen with a camera in her hands.

In October 2010, Myrl won the First Book Competition (creative non-fiction category) sponsored by The Writers' Studio at Simon Fraser University. The winning manuscript, The House With The Broken Two: A Birthmother Remembers, was published by Vancouver's Anvil Press in the spring of 2011.
